‘In recent years, I have been exploring whether other materials, both analogue and digital, can contribute to my work. I started to use soft, tactile materials such as canvas and ceramics. I made tapestries in collaboration with a machine, and digital collages of failed paper prints.’

In dialogue, the digital and handmade convey a sensation of bodylesssness and alienation. Digital prints, machine-made tapestries, handmade ceramics and drawings joined reflect on our need for physical touch, the sensory body, when meeting each other - the lack thereof when meeting online, and the sense of alienation this causes.

The work ‘State of Flux’ consists of a digital collage, copied by master weaver Maaike Gottschal into a handmade tapestry.
