‘Ephemeral hallway’, Marisa Rappard’s contribution to the exhibition ‘(Real) Humans’ at Murals Inc., in Rotterdam, 2021. At a first glance you see an abstract play with shapes that are interrupted and repeated. Upon discovering an arm or leg, it becomes clear these are human figures, fragmentised anonymous silhouettes passing. They move through a sequence of rooms resembling a hall of mirrors, like online representations of selves moving through the Cloud.

The work measures approximately 4 x 15 metres and is made up of a layer of acrylic paint covered with pastel crayon. On the left it is neighbouring a work by Frans Fransiscus and on the other side in black and white is a work by Willehad Eilers / Wayne Horse. Photos by Indra Gleidze.
